Pre-treatment
General Pre-Treatment Recommendations
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink at least 64 oz of water & be sure to moisturize the injection areas prior to your visit.
Avoid alcoholic beverages 24–48 hours prior. *including red wine*
Post-treatment
General Post-Treatment Care
Avoid Touching or Rubbing the Treated Area:
To prevent irritation or infection, avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area.
Keep the Area Clean:
Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild, non-irritating cleanser. Avoid using exfoliating products or scrubs for at least 7 days.
Apply Sunscreen:
Protect your skin by applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or higher. Reapply every two hours if exposed to sunlight.
Avoid Excessive Heat:
Steer clear of saunas, hot tubs, and strenuous exercise for 7 days to minimize swelling and redness.
If you experience:
Minor swelling: apply Arnica cream/gel & take oral Arnica,
Bruising: take Degozym as directed.
Hydrate and Rest:
Drink plenty of water and get ample rest to support your body’s natural healing processes.
Specific Post-Treatment Instructions
For Botox:
- Keep your head above your heart and refrain from lying down for 4 hours
- Avoid Massaging the area or applying pressure for 6 hours
- Avoid retinol & exfoliating acids for 3 days after
- Results can take 10–14 days to take full effect. If you need a follow up we advise waiting the full 14 days
- Some patients experience mild side effects such as a headache, which typically resolve within a few days. Post-injection bumps will dissipate within an hour
For Dermal Fillers:
- Avoid strenuous activities and facial massages for 48 hours
- The treated area may look asymmetrical or uneven (especially in the lips) for up to 10 days following the procedure, this is normal
- Keep your head above your heart for 4 hours
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours as an infection prevention measure
For Microneedling:
- Do not exercise for 24-48 hours
- Do not apply any makeup for 24 hours
- Avoid exfoliating face washes and products such as scrubs, retinol, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic, Lactic, Malic Acid, Salicylic), enzyme Peels, or microdermabrasion for 10-14 days post-procedure.
For Chemical Peels:
- Cleanse your skin using a gentle cleanser. Avoid hot water and pat dry.
- Avoid retinol & exfoliating products for 7-10 days after
- Avoid sun exposure. Expect some peeling or redness as your skin heals
General Expectations and information:
- Redness: Mild to moderate redness is common in many treatments and should subside within a few hours to a few days.
- Swelling: Some swelling can occur, particularly with injections or procedures involving heat or manipulation.
- Tenderness: The treated area may feel sensitive or tender to the touch.
- Bruising: This is possible, especially with injections or procedures that involve blood vessels.
- Dryness or Peeling: For treatments like chemical peels or microneedling, dryness or peeling of the skin can occur.
- Itching or Tightness: For treatments like micro needling or chemical peels, you may experience some itching or a feeling of tightness as the skin heals.
- Sensitivity: The treated area may be more sensitive to sun exposure and environmental factors.
